Dr Lois Muraguri is a Kenyan and British lawyer who currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Global Alliance for Livestock Veterinary Medicine (GALVmed), effective October 2025. She is the first African to lead the organization in its 18-year history. Before her appointment as CEO, she held several leadership roles within GALVmed, including Executive Director of Enabling Environment and Partner Engagement and Director for Policy and External Affairs. Her work focuses on bridging gaps between research and marketable products for small-scale livestock producers through advocacy and public-private partnerships.

Lois holds a PhD from Queen Mary, University of London, and an LL.M from Warwick University, both in the UK. Her academic specialization is in intellectual property management and public-private partnerships within the context of international development. Her extensive career includes over 20 years of experience, including roles as a Research Fellow at the Innogen ESRC Centre for Social and Economic Research and consulting for international organizations like the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI).
