Dr. Josephus Fourie has been involved in research on veterinary medicines for more than 20 years starting at a young age in a part time position at the newly founded Clinvet CRO site while completing his bachelor’s degree in animal science at the University of the Free State (UFS), South Africa. After completing his Honours degree in animal science, he joined the Clinvet team in a full-time capacity while completing his master’s degree at UFS and finally his PhD on the integrated control of ticks and fleas on dogs with particular reference to the prevention of vector-borne diseases at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Since joining the Clinvet Team, Dr. Fourie has been instrumental in establishing and growing the “Clin” group of companies globally specializing in providing services to the animal health industry. Currently the “Clin” group employs 289 staff globally and conducts >150 studies a year in addition to providing stand alone data management services on numerous other studies worldwide. Dr. Fourie has remained active in the scientific arena and has co-authored 70+ scientific papers and guidance’s, two book chapters and a two volume book series on parasiticide screening in vitro and in vivo tests. He is currently acting site Director at Clinvet USA and Vice President: Research Operations at Clinglobal.
