Simon Brooker is the Program Leader for Health at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) in Nairobi. Previously, he was a Deputy Director at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, focusing on neglected tropical diseases. He also serves as an Affiliate Professor of Global Health at the University of Washington.
Brooker holds a doctorate in Infectious Disease Epidemiology and a BA in Human Sciences from the University of Oxford, along with a Master’s in Health Economics from City University, London. Formerly a Professor of Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), his career has centered on infectious disease control, including extensive field experience in Kenya.
